Hello, April!

Today last year, my baby did his first April Fool’s prank on me, while still in my belly. We had a scheduled C-section for the following day at 7am. He was planned to be delivered on April 2nd. On the night before, when I went to bed all set for the big day, I went into early labor. It was such a big joke, given I’m only 9 hours away from the scheduled birth. So instead of a well-rested night at home, I spent the whole night awake on a hospital bed, while we wait for the verdict of whether I go on full labor and deliver before 7am. In the end, the active labor didn’t start until 7am, so I still delivered as planned. What a prankster this boy who turns 1 year old tomorrow!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ALL THE APRIL BABIES OUT THERE! –from another April-born who is mom to 2 April babies. ^_^

I always claim that I have a knack for sensing when a person is April-born. When conversing with a stranger, I sometimes end up asking if their birthday is on April. And one of my telling signs — April people tend to take an unusually high interest in their birth month.

This is just for fun.

Generally: Not followers, strong personality, talkative.

ARIES (April 1-20): Natural born leaders. Courageous. Confident. Outgoing. Initiator. Competitive. Action-oriented. Go-getter. Independent. Impulsive. Moody. Self-oriented. Thrill-seeker. Their energy and enthusiasm make them vibrant, exciting, and leave an impression to others, making them natural leaders.

TAURUS (April 21-30): Determined. Dependable. Tenacious. Persistent. Patient. Persevering. Stubborn. Goal-oriented. Self-indulging. Independent (happy to be alone). Order-seeker (wants things organized, predictable, familiar). Materialistic and responsive to surroundings. Master procrastinator. But persistence hides well the laziness – once the mind is set to achieve something, nothing can come in the way.

BIRTHSTONE: In 1870, Tiffany & Co. published an old birthstone poem that said this about April —

She who from April dates her years,
Diamonds shall wear, lest bitter tears
For vain repentance flow; this stone,
Emblem of innocence, is known.
